MeetMeTonight 2018: a place to be!
MaRHE Center will be present at MeetmeTonight 2018 together with the Industry sector that cooperates with us in several fields of research and educational activities. The event is scheduled at the Indro Montanelli Gardens at Porta Venezia in Milan on 28-29 September and is linked to the “Researchers’ Night” which every year in Europe offers thousands of public initiatives to encourage the meeting between citizens and researchers, with the aim of spreading scientific culture and showing all the fascination of research-related work.
The one in the program is now a regular appointment also for Milan and sees among its promoters, next to the University of Milan-Bicocca, the Milano Politecnico, the University La Statale, the University of Naples Federico II and the City of Milan, with the contribution of the Lombardy Region, Cariplo Foundation and the Ministerial School Office in Lombardy Region. Moreover, the event is included in the Italian Agenda of the European Year of Cultural Heritage.
At the center of MeetMeTonight 2018 there are many workshops for schools grouped into five major thematic areas: ENVIRONMENT, CULTURE AND SOCIETY, CULTURAL HERITAGE, HEALTH, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY and divided according to the age group to which they are addressed.
Some of them also fall into five specific themes and a symbol associated with the activities makes them easily identifiable: SUSTAINABLE WATER, OUR FOOD, LEONARDO GENIUS, CUSTOMIZED MEDICINE, SPACE.
The event is a great opportunity to give our personal contribution to the dissemination of scientific culture in the area, to bring the citizens of all kinds and ages closer to research, who are increasingly becoming aware protagonists of the scientific world. The need to involve the entire population in the progress of knowledge with an increasingly active role has become increasingly evident.
Involvement, responsibility, transparency: keywords of international scientific research that, together with events such as “Researchers’ Night”, reinforce the idea of belonging to a global community that intends to count more and more on the choices that concern contemporary society and future of the new generations.
